Roots & Remembrance
An Autumn Journey in Four Movements
Slow Down. Listen. Remember.
A self-paced autumn journey of mindfulness, reflection, and reconnection with the living world.
What if autumn were inviting you to slow down and listen?
There comes a time when we begin to long for something we cannot quite name.
Perhaps life has become so full that there is little room to hear ourselves think. Perhaps something is changing—a relationship, a role, a familiar way of being—and we find ourselves wondering what comes next.
Or perhaps we simply feel the quiet tug of the season: the golden leaves, the cooling air, the gathering darkness. Something in us wants to slow down, pay attention, and feel more deeply connected to life.
Autumn has a way of inviting these questions.
Beneath our busy routines, the living world is changing. Trees are releasing their leaves. Seeds are settling into the earth. Fungi are quietly transforming fallen wood and leaves, participating in the great cycles of life.
What might we discover if we allowed ourselves to move with this season rather than hurry past it?
Roots & Remembrance is an invitation to make room for that discovery.
A place to pause, wonder, and reconnect
Through guided meditations, seasonal reflections, poetry, gentle rituals, and time in nature, we'll explore what autumn can teach us about change, belonging, remembrance, and our relationship with the living Earth.
This is not about becoming a better version of yourself, fixing what feels unfinished, or finding answers to every question.
It is about making space.
Space for the feelings and questions that don't always find a place in everyday life.
Space to remember the people, places, and experiences that have shaped you.
Space to experience the natural world not simply as beautiful scenery, but as a living community to which you belong.
You don't need any particular spiritual beliefs or previous meditation experience. Bring your curiosity, your questions, your tenderness, and whatever this season is stirring in you.
There is room for all of it.
The journey: Four seasonal movements
1. Autumn Descent — The Wisdom of Letting Go
We begin among the falling leaves, exploring the rhythms of change, release, and gratitude.
Through meditation, reflection, and a simple encounter with a tree, we'll consider what we may be carrying, what is changing, and what it feels like to make room for the season as it is.
Not every loss becomes a gift. Not every change is welcome. Autumn makes room for these truths, too.
An invitation to ask: What is this season asking me to notice, honor, or gently loosen my hold upon?
2. Samhain — Standing at the Threshold
As the days shorten and the nights grow longer, we enter the ancient seasonal territory of Samhain, a time associated with remembrance and the meeting of what is visible and unseen.
With candlelight, meditation, and reflections on the mysteries of the living world, we'll explore the threshold between what we know and what we cannot fully explain.
The extraordinary life of fungi offers another doorway into this inquiry—inviting wonder at the relationships and transformations taking place beneath our feet.
There is no required belief, ritual, or interpretation. Mystery is something we can approach with curiosity.
An invitation to ask: What becomes possible when I allow myself to stand in the unknown without rushing toward an answer?
3. Ancestral Threads — Remembering What We Carry
We are shaped by countless lives and relationships: those who raised us, those who came before us, the places we have called home, and the communities and traditions that have influenced us.
Some inheritances nourish us. Others are complicated.
Through gentle reflection, embodied awareness, and time with the natural world, we'll consider the threads of care, courage, skill, sorrow, and belonging that run through our lives.
You are free to approach remembrance through family, chosen kin, community, place, or personal experience. There is no expectation to uncover painful memories or feel a particular connection to ancestors.
An invitation to ask: What have I received that I wish to honor, and what do I want to carry forward?
4. Living Earth — Reciprocity and the Life We Carry Forward
Our journey turns toward the ways we live and participate in the world.
What does it mean to belong to a living Earth? How might gratitude become care? How do our daily choices express what we value?
Drawing on mindfulness, ecological reflection, and the practice of reciprocity, we'll explore small, meaningful ways to nurture our relationships with ourselves, one another, and the places that sustain us.
We close by returning to the season around us—not with a demand to transform, but with a renewed willingness to listen and participate.
An invitation to ask: What kind of relationship do I want to cultivate with the world I am part of?
What you'll receive

Sometimes curiosity is enough to begin.
A personal invitation
For many years, mindfulness has been a way for me to listen more deeply—to myself, to others, and to the living world.
The turning seasons continue to teach me about change, uncertainty, gratitude, and the relationships that sustain us.
Roots & Remembrance grew from this ongoing practice, from time spent among the trees, from poetry and contemplation, and from a desire to create a welcoming space where others might explore these questions in their own way.
I don't offer this journey because I have all the answers.
I offer it because I believe there is something valuable in making room for the questions—and in remembering that we don't live apart from the world around us.
I would be glad to have you join me.

Come as you are. Bring your curiosity. There is room for you here.
As autumn deepens and the days grow shorter, we may find ourselves longing for a little quiet. A chance to step away from the demands of everyday life, replenish ourselves, and listen to what is stirring within.
Roots & Remembrance is an invitation to enter the season with curiosity and care.
Through guided meditation, poetry, embodied awareness, and gentle inquiry, we'll explore the changing landscape of autumn—both around us and within us.
We'll make room for gratitude and grief, memory and mystery, and the relationships that have shaped our lives.
And we'll explore something at the heart of this offering: we are not separate from the living world. We belong to it.
The trees, the soil, the waters, and the countless beings with whom we share this Earth are not merely the backdrop to our lives. We are participants in a much older, living community.
Through mindful attention, we may begin to experience that belonging—not simply as an idea, but as something felt.
There is nothing you need to accomplish here.
Simply a place to pause, wonder, and reconnect.

An Autumn Journey in Four Movements
Over four weeks, we'll explore the autumn season through mindfulness, poetry, personal reflection, and practices that deepen our awareness of the living world.
Each movement offers a guided meditation, reflections, resources, and gentle invitations to explore in your own time.
Movement One: Arriving — Autumn Descent
Coming home to our senses.
We begin by slowing down and noticing the changing season through the body.
As leaves fall and the landscape changes, we explore the rhythms of change, gratitude, and release.
Beginning at Samhain, we'll also make space for a simple candlelit practice of remembrance, honoring those who have shaped our lives and the relationships we continue to carry.
Movement Two: Listening — At the Threshold
Making room for mystery.
Autumn invites us into the quieter spaces between what is known and what is still unfolding.
Through contemplative practice, seasonal imagery, and inquiry, we explore the experience of uncertainty, the wisdom of listening, and the connections that may become more visible when we slow down.
Movement Three: Remembering — Ancestral Threads
Honoring the lives and relationships that have shaped us.
Our stories are woven from many threads—family, chosen kin, community, culture, place, and the generations who came before us.
We make room for remembrance with tenderness and discernment, recognizing that our histories may hold love, complexity, grief, and resilience.
There is no prescribed way to remember. Each participant is invited to honor what feels meaningful and supportive.
Movement Four: Belonging — Living Earth
Remembering our place in the larger community of life.
We turn toward the relationships that sustain us: the air we breathe, the earth beneath our feet, the waters, plants, animals, and human communities with whom we share our lives.
Through embodied awareness and simple practices of reciprocity, we explore how a felt sense of belonging might shape the way we live and care for the world.
We close by carrying the season's reflections into everyday life.
Mushroom Teas & Mindful Nourishment
As an optional accompaniment to our autumn journey, you'll be invited to explore seasonal mushroom teas inspired by the forest and its remarkable fungal inhabitants.
Each tea offers an opportunity to slow down, engage the senses, and reflect on the relationships that sustain life—both above and beneath the forest floor.
We'll explore four mushrooms—Reishi, Turkey Tail, Lion's Mane, and Chaga—through recipes, seasonal reflections, and mindful tea-drinking practices.
Participation is entirely optional. You are welcome to substitute a favorite herbal tea or simply enjoy the reflections and practices without preparing a beverage.
An invitation to nourish the senses, deepen our curiosity, and remember our relationship with the living Earth.

A Personal Invitation
For many years, my work as a holistic nurse, mindfulness teacher, and retreat facilitator has been rooted in a simple understanding: when we make room to pause and listen, we can become more aware of the relationships that nourish and sustain us.
The natural world has been one of my greatest teachers.
In the quiet of the forest, in the changing light, in the calls of birds and coyotes, and in the ordinary rhythms of the seasons, I continue to discover invitations to wonder, to listen, and to remember that we belong.
Roots & Remembrance grows from that ongoing exploration.
My hope is that these four movements offer you a welcoming place to settle in, reflect, and discover what this season is inviting you to notice.
I'd be delighted to have you join me.
With warmth,
Robin
