Robin Thompson, RN, has spent over 36 years navigating her nursing career as a holistic nurse in a variety of settings- at the bedside in an acute care hospital; in the home as a visiting nurse; directing an Integrative Medicine department and Employee Wellness program at a community hospital- Robin has made a life long commitment advocating the integration of conventional medicine with the best holistic and integrative medicine practices. Her passion for health and wellness led her to numerous educational trainings and personal growth programs; along with her certification as a Holistic Nurse from the American Holistic Nurses Association in 2000, Robin received her Integrative Health Coaching Certification from Duke Integrative Medicine, Durham North Carolina in 2010; She received certification to teach Holistic Stress Management workshops from Paramount Wellness Institute with Brian Luke Seaward, Boulder Colorado 2009; Professional training in Mind Body Medicine at The Center for Mind-Body Medicine with James Gordon, MD in 2005; Teacher training Re-Awakening the Heart: Caring & Renewal in Nursing Practice at The Birch Tree Center for Healthcare Transformation in 2000; Coming of Age teacher training for young girls at the Menstrual Health Foundation with Tamara Slayton, 1998; completion of a Women’s Mystery Apprenticeship program with Alisa Starkweather 2000-2003; 5 year participation at Women’s Leadership Institute with Sandra Boston 1999-2004; Teacher Training and Associate teacher for the Conscious Communication Institute teaching an 8 week class for conflict resolution, called The Art of Communicating Gracefully and Effectively. Recognizing the importance and value of yoga and mindfulness meditation, Robin also has extensive training in mindfulness stress reduction at UMASS Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society, Worcester Massachusetts.
