Land & Justice Acknowledgment

I live and work on the ancestral homeland of the Nipmuc people, whose territory—Nippenet, “the freshwater pond place”—includes what is now called Hampton, Connecticut. I honor the Nipmuc past, present, and future, and their enduring relationship with this land.

As a white person who has benefited from my ancestors’ wrongdoings and from ongoing systems of oppression, I commit to tangible acts of repair. This includes providing monthly financial support to the Nipmuc people and advocating for respect, reciprocity, and justice. In honoring Indigenous sovereignty and cultural traditions, I follow the guidance to walk in my own ancestral lineage — rooted in ancient England, Scotland, and Ireland, my Celtic heritage — as part of my commitment to living in right relationship with the Earth and its people.
